This is a thing I did: It's an area of a CTM-style map that I've been working on for a few months. Today, I was placing a skeleton spawner when the game suddenly crashed. When I restarted Minecraft, the map wasn't in the worlds list. I looked in the saves folder and noticed that the level.dat file had been deleted. I was able to do some file switching shenanigans and replace it with the level.dat of an old backup, but for a few minutes I thought I had lost about ten hours of work. Make backups, people.
